Jason Elliot, photographer, artist and Yorkshireman, has had a stab at depicting the future of the Calder Valley after a few years of global warming. He’s taken a tongue-in-cheek approach to a serious concern by transforming local scene’s with lush tropical vegetation and exotic animals and birds.

“I wanted to draw attention to the fact that Climate Change is happening, but to get the message across in a more light-hearted way than we are used to. It’s an extremely serious issue, particularly in areas like ours that can be prone to flooding, but it’s good to engage people in a way that doesn’t make them feel they are being preached to” said the artist.
Jason’s work is being exhibited at The Alternative Technology Centre in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire until the end of January 2008. Prints are available to buy as part of a limited edition of fifty.
