New Green Magazine – Verdant

verdant magazineVerdant Magazine is the latest in a growing list of green publications. According to their website, Verdant is “the nation’s [U.S.] first upscale, environmentally-friendly, lifestyle magazine featuring green ideas for better living. Dedicated to covering all aspects of eco-friendly living – from design, art and fashion trends to news summaries and authoritative product reports…”

The preview issue (only available for browsing online without a subscription) takes a look at a the usual mix of green topics – wine, alternative energy, water, beauty products, hybrid cars (and more.)

The preview issue was also used as a test run in testing out efforts to go as green as possible with the print edition. They’re using glossy magazine paper with recycled content, are working with their printer on using soy based inks, and have experimented with various materials for their poly-bag (I’m guessing that’s the plastic some magazines come wrapped in…)

Listen to an interview with Verdant editor, Sharon King Hoge, on The Lazy Environmentalist.
