5 great green British blogs

There are so many lists of the Top 10 or Top 100 best green blogs, this is not trying to be one of them. These are just 5 blogs that I like to read, are UK-based and are green. I hope you’ll enjoy them too.

Bean Sprouts – Mel Rimmer and her family live in a very small ex-council house on the edge of farmland. They grow their own food on an allotment, keep chickens and bees, and generally try to be “green”.

off-grid – The original and best, in my opinion. I’ve been reading this blog for a few years now, and it’s been a great help in my plans for the future. Nick Rosen has also published a book called How to live off-grid, you can read about it here.

Welcome to Voluntary Simplicity – Anthony Jones is into permaculture, ethical living, sustainability and self-sufficiency. He’s an interesting guy with interesting stuff to say.

Green Mop – Racheal Hughes runs a green cleaning company in Hove, East Sussex, and shares some of her green cleaning tips on her blog. She’s also done the odd blog post on green cleaning for us here at EcoStreet.

Coding Grasshopper – Coding Grasshopper doesn’t give away much about who he/she is on his/her blog, but it’s a good read with lots of juicy discussion about the state of our environment, and what we can do about it.

And those are them, folks, 5 of my favourite great green British blogs. There are many more blogs that I’ve had the pleasure of reading over the past few years, some of them are no longer updated, but they are still great archives of green out there in the blogosphere. Long live blogging!
