It’s the final day of the EcoStreet go green challenge! Congratulations on getting to the end of the two weeks, and well done on making lots of positive changes to your life and to the planet.
Your final challenge is a choice of three, or go the whole hog and do all all of them.

1. Start composting - we explain how to do it here.
2. Replace disposable batteries with rechargeable batteries - get yourself a stock of rechargeable batteries and a charger for all your gadgets that require batteries. Don’t forget that you can take your disposable batteries down to Curry’s to be recycled.
3. Plant a tree - Plant a tree in your garden to shade your house in summer, and convert carbon dioxide to oxygen. Give trees and chance. If you haven’t got a garden, get a pot plant.
We’re giving away a copy of Sheherazade Goldsmith’s book A Slice of Organic Life and an eco-nique carbon neutral leather MP3 case to the writer of our favourite story of how you got on with our go green challenge. Send your story in no more than 500 words to tracy[at]ecostreet[dot]com by Wednesday, 5th September to enter the competition. The winner will be notified by email and announced on the blog, accompanied by the winning entry. The competition is open to residents of the UK and Ireland only.

“If you haven’t got a garden, get a pot plant.” And for those of us who don’t smoke pot, maybe some other kind of plant?
