These guys are the very latest green directory listing at Eco Street, and an environmentally-minded camping enthusiasts dream. Huttopia (a eco-friendly cross between huts and utopia) is a French eco-tourism company with two beautiful campsites, one in Rille and one in Versailles.

Huttopia have gone to great lengths not to disturb nature when setting up their campsites. They are committed to preserving local flora, build their huts on stilts to avoid messing with the lay of the land, out of natural materials of course, and it goes without saying that peace and tranquility are assured when you visit one of their sites. All waste is recycled on the sites (made simple by separate bins for everything), campsite spaces are large and car access is restricted.

Apart from the bring-your-own-tent basic camping option, you could also rent one of their “huts” that come in the form of Roulotte gypsy caravans, Cabanes for those who prefer four-walls, and Canadiennes “Yukon-style” tents for those who like to camp with some home comforts.

Thanks to jools115 for the tip.

This looks delightful! I too enjoy camping and sadly there are few UK campsites that offer recycling facilities and have such an awareness of their natural environment. We usually end up taking our recycling back home with us.
