Are We Green Yet?
Progress on alternative energy is difficult to keep up with. I will attempt to keep abreast of new developments in energy conservation here. Combating global warming won’t get off the ground if we don’t know what to do on an individual basis. I want to see changes made, I want to feel we are all doing our part. Dear Dick,
We are buying a narrowboat and would love advice on how to be greener. We are changing the pumpout toilet to a bucket and chuck it but can we compost safely? we have a friend who’s willing to let us use his compost heap. How can we be safe and non-smelly?
Also, can we run the Lister engine, (c.1950’s) on chip fat oil? I believe we can but do we need any modifications?
We would be very grateful for any help and advice you can give us. We have already contacted our Solar power man to get some advice and quotes for solar panels!
