Kirklees Council have announced plans to install two wind turbines on Civic Centre III in the centre of Huddersfield. The plans are part of an effort to cut rising fuel costs for the council, and to contribute towards tackling global warming. The building is already using solar energy collectors to heat its water.

“This is an excellent example of using technology not just to protect the climate but also to reduce the council’s fuel bills.

“The council is installing renewable energy across the district in schools, homes and civic buildings.

“This reduces energy costs and harmful greenhouse gas emissions, benefiting Kirklees residents and people everywhere.”
