London based boutique electronics company, Hulger, is searching for a producer for their latest design project, the Plumen low-energy light bulb. They were designed to counter the ugliness of CFLs that are currently available, and are objects d’art in their own right. No need to hide these babies under a bushel lampshade.

    This is absolutley great. I’ve been thinking about this… but someone did it for me. Just awesome. When do they come to the US?

    Seems like the second, and maybe the third, design shown is not much more than an excess amount of raw product used to make what could be made (and is being made)with much, much less. Do people really care that much about what the bulb under the lampshade looks like? And will these folks soon realize there are bigger issues to worry about? One can only hope…
