I have written extensively in my blog, on that very subject, from a climate change perspective. As consumers, we can vote with our purses and refuse to buy apparel made in exploiting countries. It is not good for the environment any way, since the transportation costs in terms of CO2 are so high. Of course, it is not always easy to resist the lure of a pretty dress, that costs almost nothing. It has taken me months to no longer desire the pretty dress. One day, the desire vanished, just like that. I became too busy blogging, and being an environmental activist. If we are to help those children, lets provide more microfinancing to their mothers, so that they can help their families in a sustainable fashion. They will be better off.
