Homes in London make up 40% of the city’s CO2 production. That’s a massive amount of greenhouse gas contributing towards global warming. If you’re a Londoner you can reduce your CO2 emissions by replacing your incandescent light bulbs with low energy CFL light bulbs, and this weekend, you can do it for free. Take up to two of your old light bulbs to any London branch of B&Q this weekend (Friday 11th to Sunday 13th January 2008) and they’ll replace them with low energy light bulbs - for FREE! The London Lightbulb Amnesty is an initiative led by the Mayor of London, in partnership with British Gas and B&Q.

Even better than this - you can get two energy saving light bulbs absolutely free this Saturday with The Sun with no voucher or amnesty required. They are giving 4.5m away. Let’s hope it really starts people changing
