« Tetra Pak talks about recycling Wind Turbine shortlisted as “unsung landmark”. »

August 23rd, 2006

Posted in Eco-friendly House, Recycling by Tracy Stokes

The 1,000,000th compost bin is being delivered in the UK this week, and to celebrate Recycle Now’s Compost at Home team and Waste Aware Scotland brought a bit of glitz and glamour to home composting in Trafalgar Square yesterday with a bit of help from Lea of Big Brother fame. 30 home composters were given away to members of the public.

You can also be a winner if you buy a compost bin this week (21-28 August 2006) from a WRAP Home Composting Campaign scheme. There will be a prize draw with three winners drawn randomly by computer - 1st prize will be £2000 of vouchers which can be redeemed at any of 2,000 garden centres across the UK, 2nd prize will be £1000 of vouchers and 3rd prize will be £500 of vouchers. All in all, not a bad week to start composting!
