I love the idea that there are ordinary folks out there thinking of inventive ways to get conservation messages across. After all, that’s how EcoStreet got started.

    Cool !

I’ll try it out, it is great idea :)

Great idea - but water is still wasted getting it back to the right temperature when ready to rinse off.

i saw an invention on “New Inventors” a year or so ago - Stav’s Shower Saver, I think it was called - it allows you to turn off the water with a flick of a finger, then back on at the same temperature. Very simple, very cheap, and saves even more water.

I must be a total genius :-) as I thought of that over a year ago.
I find the water is still hot in the pipe and doesn’t have to heated up again (I have a hot water cistern).

I really don’t understand what the fuss is all about - this is the way I have showered for as long as I can remember! I truely don’t understand why it seem to be so diffucult to turn the water off when shampooing and so on. I have tried to convince my husband but no luck so far!

  • Navy showers do save… but they’re not much fun to take. Take a look at my version of a “Better Navy Shower” http://itjustmakessense.net and decide for yourself.
