I love the idea that there are ordinary folks out there thinking of inventive ways to get conservation messages across. After all, that’s how EcoStreet got started.

Progress on alternative energy is difficult to keep up with. I will attempt to keep abreast of new developments in energy conservation here. Combating global warming won’t get off the ground if we don’t know what to do on an individual basis. I want to see changes made, I want to feel we are all doing our part. I’ll try it out, it is great idea
Great idea - but water is still wasted getting it back to the right temperature when ready to rinse off.
i saw an invention on “New Inventors” a year or so ago - Stav’s Shower Saver, I think it was called - it allows you to turn off the water with a flick of a finger, then back on at the same temperature. Very simple, very cheap, and saves even more water.
I must be a total genius
as I thought of that over a year ago.
I find the water is still hot in the pipe and doesn’t have to heated up again (I have a hot water cistern).
I really don’t understand what the fuss is all about - this is the way I have showered for as long as I can remember! I truely don’t understand why it seem to be so diffucult to turn the water off when shampooing and so on. I have tried to convince my husband but no luck so far!
Navy showers do save… but they’re not much fun to take. Take a look at my version of a “Better Navy Shower” http://itjustmakessense.net and decide for yourself.
