Chris Carey’s Collections has officially opened a new £2million textile recycling facility in Beckenham effectively doubling its capacity for recycling, and enabling the company to secure contracts to recycle all staff uniforms for Homebase and Argos. The new facility will receive clothes from over 2000 SMEs, community groups, local authorities and charity shops, hand sort them and then channel them into re-sale, recycle or shred them for mattress filling and other products.
The development was awarded a £185,000 grant by London Remade, and has created 63 new jobs for local people.
